On a more sombre note

Steven’s article about his late wife Pauline’s experiences with doctors has been published recently in the Daily Telegraph

A memorial concert for Pauline will be held at the Wigmore Hall in London on the morning of July 23rd. Artists performing will include the flautist William Bennett, the tenor Mark Padmore, the pianists András Schiff, Stephen Hough and Thomas Adès, the violinist Joshua Bell and Steven himself. The marathon programme will include, alongside works by Bach, Schubert, Schumann et al, the first London performance of Thomas Adès’ ‘Lieux Retrouvés’ for cello and piano and the premiere of a short work for solo cello by György Kurtág, written in memory of Pauline. The proceeds from the concert will go to the Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead, London, where Pauline died.
